princess-cdsChildren can benefit from being exposed to music as early as when they’re still in the womb. Many parents believe that the rhythm and melodies of music can improve children’s intelligence, brain function and general quality of life. Listening, dancing and singing along to music keeps kids occupied and is a great alternative to having them watch TV. It can also help younger kids learn words, and even different languages!

A unique gift for any child is personalized kids music. CDs are available that feature your child’s name being sung over and over again throughout several fun and entertaining songs. Imagine your child’s surprise when he or she realizes this CD was made especially for them! One company who produces personalized kids music has featured over 4,200 of the most popular names on CDs, and they only cost $14.95 – about the same price as a regular, non-personalized CD. One of the first words a child learns is his or her own name, and it will always be special to them – give your child a gift they’ll treasure for many years to come!

hanselandgretel-789800Tracing the history of childrens literature to an exact moment in time is difficult due to the difficulty in defining childrens literature.  Many books written were not intended for children, but over time have become classic childrens books.

Some of the earliest stories that became popular by children were written in the 15th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.  Books like the Tales of Robin Hood, Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretal just to mention a few.  Children became fascinated by these stories, so over the centuries these stories have been geared toward children.

Kids’ clothes for less

toddlersIt’s no secret that kids grow quickly – one minute they’re crawling as babies, and the next minute they’re moving off to college! OK, maybe they don’t grow that fast, but it sure seems that way to parents who treasure every age and stage their children go through. One of the most challenging aspects of a child’s rapid growth can be buying new clothing. Buying new clothes for a child every time he outgrows something can be very expensive. Parents should consider the many alternatives to buying new clothes – remember, no matter how nice the new clothes are, they will also be outgrown eventually!

One option for families with multiple children is to dress the younger kid in hand-me-down clothing. As long as the clothing is still in relatively good condition, there’s no reason why you can’t recycle an older child’s clothing by using it to dress a younger child when they get big enough. You may want to use laundry detergent that prevents fading to keep clothes looking new and vibrant. If you have an only child and hand-me-downs aren’t an option, shop for discount childrens clothing. There are plenty of inexpensive clothing options for kids – all you have to do is seek them out! By being frugal and hunting down good deals, you can save a lot of money and always keep your kids in clothes that fit.
